Festival
organizer Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) will present
its annual financial report card and performance in the afternoon of February 7.
While it will
highlight the success and achievements of the Kalibo
Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan festival celebration, Kasafi chairman Albert Menez said it will focus more on
their latest financial earnings
and expenses of yearly
operations.
The festival
organizer, in its memorandum of agreement with the local government of Kalibo,
is required to submit the financial report of its operations to the Kalibo Sangguniang
Bayan within 60 days after the festival during each and every year.
Menez said the
Kasafi will present a ‘good report’ to the public and the local media on how Kasafi
carries its mission and how it forge strategic partnerships in terms of promotion and support with the private sector and the clergy that led to the success of the Kalibo festival.
The foundation is
an independent group of volunteers that generates financial and creative
support for the promotion of Ati-Atihan festival and other tourism programs from corporate sponsors, the
local and provincial governments, companies and individuals.
Every year, the festival has and continues to be a significant
and positive driver to the local economy.
Its economic
impact was derived primarily from the spending of visitors and locals on
accommodations, airline fares, drinks and foods for the week-long festival.
Beyond the
festival’s numbers, quite
integral also to the festival were the volunteers who
help the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Festival run and make volunteering enjoyable.
