barefoot runner from Aklan grabbed two golds in the recent Batang Pinoy National
Championships in Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Angelica
de Josef won the gold medal in 1500 meters girls in a stunning finish clocking
4:52.45 to beat Joneza Mie Sustituedo of Iloilo in 4:52.48.
Jessa
Mae Jadomay of Rizal Province came in third in 5:02.32.
De
Josef, a second year high school of Lezo Integrated School in Lezo, Aklan, became a double
gold medalist after winning the 800 meters girls on Thursday with 2:21.39,
beating Feiza Mae Jane of Leyte Sports Academy-Smart 2:24.69 for the gold.
Bernalyn
Bejoy of Negros Occidental took the bronze in 2:25.53.
De
Josef also took the silver in 400 meters girls in 1:01.9 behind Joycie Beranio
of Negros Occidental, who clocked 1:00.8. Gemmalyn Pino of Leyte Sports Academy-Smart
took the bronze in 1:02.4.
De
Josef ruled the 2014 Batang Pinoy 800 meters run way below her Palarong
Pambansa gold record of 2:17.2 in Dumaguete City last year.
Some
2,500 delegates saw action in 21 sporting events of
the 2014 Philippine
Sports Commission– Philippine Olympic Committee Batang
Pinoy national finals in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental from January 28 to February 1.
