Despite meager festival
sponsorships, the Kalibo Sto. Nino
Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) managed to earn P3,085,159 as of fiscal
year ending January 2014. The earnings was 12 percent higher than the
P2,745,414 net income last year.
The sources of revenues
include advertisements for Ati-Atihan souvenir program of P142,000; ticket
sales of Mutya ag Lakan it Kalibo Ati-Atihan pageant of P200,988;
rentals from Kalibo Magsaysay stalls of P318,000; opening salvo tickets of P18,900 and Kaean-an sa Plaza food
stalls rentals of P58,000.
Kasafi also collected
P394,011 from the four-day sponsored Hala Bira Ati-Atihan Nights and sales of drinks from
Kalibo Magsaysay Park depot of P187,056. It also collected P2,455,000 out of
P3,532,000 sponsorships from corporate sponsors.
The internal audited
report of Kasafi showed it incurred expenses of P5,126,011 for its
pre-Ati-Atihan events and the weeklong Ati-Atihan festival.
The big tickets of
expenses were Ati-Atihan street decorations of P102,046; Mutya ag Lakan it
Kalibo Ati-Atihan festival materials of P310,445; printing of Ati-Atihan
souvenir program of P74,250; police security assistance of P150,000; cash
prizes from winning Ati-Atihan tribes and individuals of P681,000; subsidies
for participating Ati-Atihan tribes of P607,750; cash prizes for grand winners
of Mutya ag Lakan it Kalibo Ati-Atihan of P120,000 and taxes and licenses of
P153,376.
In 2012, the festival
organizer generated P3.194 million net income compared to P1.806 million in its
first year of operations in 2011.
As of this report posting,
the accounts receivable of Kasafi stood at P1.182 million.
Albert Menez, chairman of Kasafi,
said the foundation is mandated to submit an audited financial report of its
operations within 60 days after the Ati-Atihan festival to the Sangguniang
Bayan of Kalibo.
He also thanked the
volunteers and sponsors of the 2014 Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan festival who
helped make the festival a success.
