KALIBO, Aklan – Twenty five police officers were awarded by the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) and the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) for their contribution in the maintenance of peace and order in the province.
The awardees were assigned in the municipal police stations of Malay, Nabas, Madalag, Libacao and the capital town of Kalibo.
They received due recognition from Chief Superintendent Cipriano Querol, Jr. of PRO-6 and Senior Superintendent Cornelio Defensor during the flag raising ceremony held at the Aklan Provincial Capitol grounds yesterday morning.
Querol cited the accomplishments of the individual awardees as a manifestation of the community’s support in the peace and order campaign.
Among the awardees were Inspector Mark Cordero, Senior Police Officer I Edwin Alag, Police Officer 3 Ronnie Martinez, Police Officer 2 Ernesto Lomeda and Police Officer 1 Nante Briones of Malay police station.

Inspector Evangeline Ufano led the awardees from Kalibo police station along with Senior Police Officer 2 Jovencio Upano, Police Officer 3 Joseph Cavan, Police Officer 1 Hansel Quinesio and Police Officer 1 Genald Roxas.
Inspector Belshazzar Villanoche, Senior Police Officer 1 Ricardo de Chino, Police Officer 2 Jhannyh Navida, Police Officer 2 Roger Ninofranco and Police Officer 1 Felix Nadua were the awardees from Madalag police station.
Other deserving awardees from Nabas police station were Inspector Renante Matillano, Senior Police Officer 2 Melbert Sabando, Police Officer 3 Rameses Cahilig, Police Officer 2 Phytagoras Elloso, Jr. and Police Officer 1 Cobert Yamog.
Inspector Antonio Navarra, Senior Police Officer 4 Elmer de Jose, Senior Police Officer 1 Yoli Villorente, Police Officer 1 Ritchie Pantoja and Police Officer 1 Randy Zubiaga were the awardees from Libacao police station.

In his message, Querol said the involvement of the community in the prevention and solution of crimes is timely in the twin celebrations of the Police-Community Relations Month and National Disaster Consciousness Month.
“Maybe in the eyes of our critics, these accomplishments are but insignificant. But we maintain that we can only achieve great things by sustaining small incremental success every day,” he stressed.
“As I said, we don’t desire popularity. Our goal is to improve our services to the public. Because it is only when we win the trust and confidence of the public that we can truly say that we have fulfilled our mission "to serve and protect,” Querol added.
