Drug suspects nabbed in Altavas

ALTAVAS, Aklan - Two drug suspects were collared by joint elements of the Aklan Police Provincial Office-Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and the Altavas police station here Monday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as 32-year old Reynaldo Bermejo of Banica, Roxas City, Capiz and Jacinto Bermejo, 49, of Panay, Capiz. They were arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Man-up, this town.

The suspects yielded a small heat sealed sachet suspected to be methamphetamine chloride commonly known as shabu after they sold the illegal substance to a poseur buyer during the drug sting. The operatives led by Inspector Christian Burgos also impounded a Nissan Terrano and recovered drug paraphernalia, cell phone and disposable lighters.

PO2 Nida Gregas, APPO Information Officer, said that Reynaldo Bermejo will be facing charges of violations of Section 5, 11 and 15 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while the other suspect will be charged for possession of drug paraphernalia.
