Aklan lawyers elect IBP officers

KALIBO, Aklan - Aklan lawyers elected their new set of officers to head the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Aklan Chapter for 2011 to 2013.
The elected IBP officers were Flora Almero (president), Dangal Nadua (vice president), Marienne Ibadlit (secretary), Pedrito Flores (treasurer), Saykeme Martelino (assistant secretary treasurer) and Romeo Lachica (auditor).
Almero won the IBP Aklan presidency over Christine Candelario-Dela Cruz. The newly elected lady president will replace incumbent IBP president Ricardo Ibarreta, Jr. starting April 1.
Elected board of directors were lawyers Antonio Tabang, Plaridel Morania, Niovady Marin, Niflem Meren, Angela Dianne Alindato and Ibarreta as ex-officio member.
Lawyer Pedro Icamina was the first IBP Aklan president from 1973 to 1975.
Other past presidents were Librado Regalado (1975-1977), Allen Quimpo (1977-1979), Manolo Kimpo (1979-1981), Romeo Teston (1981-1983), Francisco Zarate (1983-1985), Fidencio Raz (1985-1987), Estrella Mijares-Briones (1987-1988), Ronquillo Tolentino (1988-1989), Diosdado Reloj, Jr. (1989-1991), Victorio Mabasa (1991-1993), Eulado Masangcay (1993-1995), Maria Carrillo-Zaldivar (1995-1997), Immanuel Sodusta (1997-1999), Pepito Ta-ay (1999-2001), Selwyn Ibarreta (2001-2003), Antonio Tabang (2003-2005), Maria Carrillo-Zaldivar (2005-2007), Saykeme Molino-Martelino (2007-2009) and Ricardo Ibarreta, Jr. (2009-2011).
