P411,000 up for grabs in Kalibo Ati contest

KALIBO, Aklan - Festival organizer Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) has allocated P411,00 as prizes for this year's Ati competition.

For Modern group category, the champion will receive P30,000, first runner-up P15,000 and second runner-up P10,000. Three consolation winners will also received P3,000 each.
Five modern group entries are vying for the major prize, namely, Scorpio 11-19, Enchanting, Aeang-aeang, Kababaihan it Kalibo and Adlaw Gabii ni John.

Tribal Big category champion will get P70,000 while first runner-up to second runner-up will each received P40,000 and P30,000, respectively. Three Ati tribes will also bagged consolation prize of P10,000 each.

Eight tribes are contesting the top prize in the Tribal Big - Pangawasan Tribe, Libtong Boys, Black Beauty Boys, Lord Eagles, Kabog, Tribu Tiis-Tiis, Maharlika Tribe and D' Kamanggahan Tribe.

For the Balik-Ati category, the grand champion will receive P30,000, first runner-up P15,000 and second runner-up P10,000. Three Bali-Ati tribes will also received P3,000 each as consolation prizes.

Maninikop, Lilo anong Ati ag Datu Marikudo, Kinantuing, Apo ni Inday, Malipayong Ati, Tribu Isalacan and Tribu Ilayanhon are the competing tribes for the Balik-Ati category.

Ten Tribal Small contesting tribes - Tribu Bukid Tigayon, Tribu Responde, Tribu Alibang-bang, Morongga Tribe, Tribu Parola, Lezo Tribe, Tribu Tipon-Tipon, Tribu Hampakan (King of Spider), Tribu Ninolitos, Tribu Bukid Tigayon and Tribu Osman-ians Copradiros are vying for the P40,000 grand prize.

First runner up winner will receive P25,000 and the second runner up will get P20,000. Three consolation winners will each received P7,000.

Twenty participants also registered in the Individual category. They are Banig-Banig, Silver and Violet, Bagia, The Judgement, Recycled Queen, The Golden Sarok, Showgays Sister, Butterfly Queen, Pios Shell, Cannibal, Jungle Tribe, Absurungsung, Fantastica, Authentic Customized Ati, Bihag, Dyusa, Millinium Gay, Fantastik, Statue of Liberty and Pink Lady Gaga.

Five winners will be chosen for Most Comical, Most Modern, Most Fantastic, Most Symbolic and Most Original. Each of them will receive P2,000.
