KALIBO, Aklan - Festival organizer Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) started to release the cash prizes for the tribe contest in the recently concluded Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival.
Kasafi chair on group participation Dennis Dalida said the total prizes of P415,000 were distributed to the winners in the Modern, Tribal Small, Tribal Big, Balik-Ati and Individual categories last Tuesday.
Modern tribe winners received P61,000, of which grand champion Scorpio 11-19 bagged P30,000. Other winners were Aeang-Aeang group for P15,000 and Adlaw Gabii ni John went home P10,000 cash prize.
Balik-Ati tribe winners also received P64,000 from Kasafi. Lilo anong Ati ag si Datu Marikudo led the winners with P30,000 first place prize.
For the Tribal Big category, a total cash prize of P170,000 were given to Black Beauty Boys (P70,000), Kabog (P40,000) and Libtong Boys (P30,000). Consolation winners - Tribu Tiis-Tiis, Maharlika Tribe and Lord Eagles, all received P10,000 each.
Tribal Small winners had P106,000 cash prizes, of which Tribu Bukid Tigayon received the grand prize of P40,000. Second placer Morongga Tribe had P25,000 and second runner-up Tribu Alibang-bang got P20,000. Consolation prizes went to Tribu Osman-ian Copradiros, Tribu Hampakan "King of Spider" and Tribu Responde for P7,000 each.
Seven individual winners also received P2,000 for a total cash prizes of P14,000 in the individual category.
