Aklan budget for maximum delivery of services, guv says

KALIBO, Aklan – Governor Carlito Marquez said the provincial government will continue to provide the basic social services by setting aside budgets for education, infrastructures, health services and facilities.
Over Bombo Radyo Kalibo, the governor assured his local constituents the continuous, effective and efficient delivery of services using the proposed 2011 annual budget. The appropriations, the biggest in the history of the province, will also financed expenditures for economic services to achieve the executive agenda.
Aklan is among the lead provinces that supports the Philhealth's indigency program and the establishment of inter-local health zones to integrate the public health and hospital services in the member municipalities.

Last week, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan started the marathon hearing with all the department heads of the P979.436 million General Fund and Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD) budget.
The committees on ways and means, budget and finance and appropriation chaired by SP member Selwyn Ibarreta deliberated the total annual budget at the Aklan SP session hall.
Of the P976-million budget, general fund amounts to P587.989 million and P388.446 million for EEDD. The draft annual appropriation was transmitted by Governor Marquez to the provincial board on October 15 for approval before year ends.
In the proposed budget for calendar 2011, the Provincial Treasure's Office has a budget of P14.240 million, Provincial Accounting Office with P15.463 million, Provincial Planning and Development Office with P8.446 million, Provincial Budget Office with P7.988 million and Provincial Agriculturist's Office with P8.471 million.
