KALIBO, Aklan - The province of Aklan has announced the release of salary differential to its more than 1,000 employees.
Aklan Governor Carlito Marquez said the funds for the additional incentives for calendar year 2010 was included in the supplemental budget approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan.
"The salary rate increase is under the Salary Standardization Law for our government employees at par with other provinces across the country. The human resource personnel, treasurer and accounting departments had double time to release the salary adjustments to the employees. Keep up the good work, dear employees," he stressed.
The Capitol employees have a good reason to celebrate this early when the provincial government released P14,379,696 on August 25 representing the salary differential of 1,111 employees from January to August 2010 under Appropriation Ordinance No. 2010-004.
Meanwhile, 3,958 families in the towns of Balete, Libacao and Buruanga were recipients of the P19-million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the province.
Marquez said the province of Aklan will soon have the first social welfare desk in Western Visayas to be constructed in the Caticlan jetty port in Barangay Caticlan.
