Kalibo PNP now in Facebook to fight crime

KALIBO, Aklan – Want to know more about the Kalibo police station?
Sign up now to the latest social media initiative and connect to the Kalibo police station to fight criminality in the capital town of Kalibo.
In line with the Integrated Transformation Program, the entire national police has maximized the online capabilities of Twitter, Friendster and Facebook accounts.
Chief Insp. Aden Lagradante said the Facebook account “Kalibo Police” serves as information site of the activities of the local police as it step up its campaign against the criminals by using the popular social networking site.
Kalibo police chief Lagradante has encouraged the public, especially the Facebook users to add the account and those without Facebook accounts to start connecting with the Kalibo police.
The Facebook page, he said, will also publish photos, post comments and suggestions to inform the public of the law enforcement activities of Kalibo police station, one of the model police stations in the country and recipient of International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) of the United States and New Zealand governments.
To date, the Facebook account "Kalibo Police" has 43 friends and counting. The public may still call the Kalibo police station to report at 166 or 268-2166 (Pantelco).
