Pagdilao: Aklan cops to strictly implement P-Noy 'no wang-wang' policy
BY BOY RYAN B. ZABAL

KALIBO, Aklan – Acting police regional director Chief Superintendent Samuel D. Pagdilao, Jr. has reiterated President Noynoy Aquino's order to the 600-strong personnel of Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) in his first command visit over the weekend.
Pagdilao said the police should immediately implement the policies on 'no wang-wang sirens, no tong and no counter flow of vehicles', which the Chief Executive mentioned in his inaugural address on June 30 at the Quirino Grandstand.
“To us, this order is simple. But sometimes simple orders are at times neglected. This has far-reaching implications once disregarded. The order of President Aquino is a step towards attaining national discipline,” he said.
Pagdilao said the unauthorized use of sirens and blinkers, mulcting policemen and vehicles violating traffic rules should be strictly monitored and enforced in Aklan by the APPO headed by Senior Supt. Epifanio Bragais, Jr.
“Two years ago, I visited the Camp Pastor Martelino when I was the deputy regional director for administration during the time of Senior Supt. Benigno 'Bong' Durana, Jr. when he was the provincial police director. I was actually given the go-signal by our then regional director Chief Supt. Wilfredo Dulay to make my rounds already to replace him once he retired in service,” Pagdilao said.
When he was in Aklan for an official visit, Pagdilao was directed by then PNP Chief Avelino Razon to report to the National Capital Region Police Office instead of assuming the regional directorship of Western Visayas.
“That was history and now I am back as your regional director. I am very grateful and thankful because this is an opportunity for us to head the Police Regional Office 6 and once again to set foot in Aklan to visit you and address as my officers and personnel,” Pagdilao added.
This is also an opportunity, Pagdilao said, to start with a new President and a new regional director under a new administration.
