Coast Guard, PNP arrested drug pusher

MALAY, Aklan - A suspected drug pusher was arrested in a search and buy-bust operation early Thursday morning at Sitio Tabon, Caticlan, this town.
Senior Chief Ramonito Napoles, deputy station commandeer of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) based in Malay, Aklan said the Coast Guard personnel in coordination with the local police apprehended 29-year old Rouquigie Bandala alias ‘Dodoy or ‘Damian’, presently residing in Sitio Tabon in Barangay Caticlan at 4 a.m.
Recovered from Bandala were one small sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, one packed containing two heat-sealed sachet of shabu, cellphone and P1,930 cash.
“The suspect (Bandala) is mainly operating in Malay and Nabas area in the illegal trading of shabu. The buy-bust operation started at a videoke house and a follow up operation at the suspect’s residence, all in Sitio Tabon, which resulted to the arrest of Bandala,” Napoles added.
The suspect was brought to Camp Pastor Martelino in the capital town of Kalibo for investigation. He is facing charges for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Napoles also lauded the operatives, especially the intelligence personnel of PCG and the Philippine National Police that led to the arrest of the suspected drug pusher.
“The joint operation was a result of a thorough surveillance of the suspect,” he concluded.
