32 Aklanon athletes off to Tarlac Palarong Pambansa

KALIBO, Aklan – Thirty two athletes from the province of Aklan will represent Western Visayas region in the 2010 Palarong Pambansa.
The young athletes dominated their sport events in the recent Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet hosted by the province last March 14 to 19.
The annual national sports competition, slated from April 11 to 17 in Tarlac province, has more than 6,000 athletes from 17 regions competing in the elementary and secondary divisions.
The athletes will compete in taekwondo, football, athletics, badminton, table tennis, chess, archery, arnis, boxing, volleyball, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, softball, sepak takraw, basketball, swimming and lawn tennis.
Reigning Palarong Pambansa gold medalist Macky Delfin and silver medalist Noriel Pellio lead the Aklan delegation along with promising boxer Raymund Salmingo in the secondary category.
The best tankers of Aklan – Mark Anthony Roberts, Isabella Selyn Ibarreta and Ada Beatriz Ortega also earned the right to represent the region in the annual sports meet.
Other Tarlac-bound athletes are Ma. Jessa Valeriano, who took the golds in 1,500m, 3,000m, 800m and 4x400 relay, high jump gold medalist Janine Parohinog and Cyrene Joy Magbanua in the secondary and in the elementary - javelin throw gold medalist Jerrymay Rubias, 200m gold medalist Mary Cris Tabiolo and Allysa Marie Andrade, who garnered gold medals in long jump, triple jump and 100m run.
Rainier Paolo Vallijo, Vendelle Magdael, Jeremiah Estrada, John Freche Bautista and Joe Mark Antonio are participating in the solo / double baston individual and group anyo and full contact events of arnis.
Mike Louiz Rondael, Ace Jefre Saludo, Junejay Sucgang, RB Solanoy, Jovencio Nalayog, Reynel Jude Niñofranco, Niño Reo Lanciso and Raenmon Josef Panlilio for volleyball elementary boys.
Rueben Inaudito and Ramon Leonardo Lumibao were selected in Western Visayas volleyball secondary boys team at the upcoming Tarlac games. Badminton players Jeril Panado and Izza Marie Lourdes Masangcay, baseball Ralph Lorence Salsona, taekwondo jin Christian Recidoro and sepak takraw player Clark Spencer Magdaluyo will also participate in the forthcoming Palarong Pambansa.

  1. tell you what we are not wont of superb athletes what we lack is a serious training/development program of course we do not have the sufficient fund to do it but nontheless we have the will of our athletes. Mabuhay!
