Aklan police director Senior Superintendent Epifanio Bragais, Jr. said the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) would be on alert to secure the sport venues and billeting areas where competitions would be held. More than 2,500 athletes, coaches and game officials are accommodated in private and public schools for the weeklong sports event.

Bragais stressed that barangay tanods are deployed to augment the policemen assigned at the assistance centers established in the billeting areas and venues, mostly in the capital town of Kalibo and the refurbished Aklan Calangcang Sports Complex in Makato, Aklan.
Six participating provinces led by powerhouse Iloilo and Negros delegations are billeted in Kalibo Elementary School and Numancia Integrated School, Capiz contingent at Aklan Catholic College and New Buswang Elementary School, Guimaras delegation at Lezo Integrated School, Antique delegation at Makato Integrated School and the host province of Aklan at Andagao Elementary School and the Aklan National High School for Arts and Trades.
Meanwhile, Bragais also appealed to the general public, especially tricycle drivers to show kindness and goodwill to thousands of sports participants and visitors expected to flock here for the 2010 regional athletic meet slated March 14 to 19.
The colorful grand opening ceremony is scheduled on March 15 at Aklan Calangcang Sports Complex with former Defense Secretary Gilberto 'Gibo' Teodoro, Jr. as guest of honor.
