Aklan press corps elects officers

KALIBO, Aklan - The Aklan Police and Defense Press Corps (APDPC) recently elected its new set of officers beginning this year until 2011.
Reelected president was Boy Ryan Zabal of Panay News/Manila Bulletin, Ambrosio Villorente, Jr. (Madyaas Pen) - vice president, Roben Laserna (DyYM CBIS Hot FM) - secretary and Arnel Vicente (DyIN Bombo Radyo) - treasurer.
Other officers elected were Ronnel Irodestan, auditor (DyYM CBIS Hot FM) and Rolly Herrera, business manager (IBC DyRG Budyong).
Jojet Reyes of IBC DyRG Budyong was elected chairman of the board. The board of directors are Ron Bautista (RGMA DyRU Super Radyo), Arnel Relampago (Kalibo Cable TV), Daniel Tonel (DyIN Bombo Radyo), Michael Selorio (RGMA DyRU Super Radyo), Georgie Cawaling (Itravel Magazine) and Gary Vargas (Kalibo Cable TV).
"We are looking for a new direction to enhance the organization, not only to report police-related activities, but also to create opportunities that would promote better working relationship among the members," Zabal said.
APDPC was recognized by Aklan police director Senior Supt. Clarence Guinto for its contributions and assistance to the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) accomplishments.
The induction rites of the three-year old press corps is scheduled on March 21, 2009 in Kalibo, Aklan.
