Out-of school youth nabbed for rape
BY BOY RYAN B. ZABAL

IBAJAY, Aklan – An 18-year-old out-of-school youth was arrested by elements of the Ibajay Philippine National Police (PNP). He is the suspect in the alleged rape of his 31-year-old first cousin.
PO2 Leonido Insauriga said suspect Jose Loiue Daguno is a resident of Brgy. Regador, Ibajay, Aklan, about 25 kilometers west of the capital town of Kalibo.
The woman complained to the police that she was sleeping with her two kids – one a three-year-old and another a one-year-old baby – when Daguno barged into her makeshift house around 8 p.m. Friday last week.
She said Daguno hit her on the stomach then raped her.
“I can’t forgive him what he done to me. Before he raped at will, I warned him to report to his father,” said the woman.
The woman’s husband is working in Boracay.
After the rape, the woman said Daguno fled. She then took her kids to her mother’s house, about 300 meters away. She told her what happened.
The following day, they reported the incident to Naisud barangay captain Emilio Gregorio and to the Ibajay PNP.
Daguno is living separately from his parents when he was collared by police operatives in Brgy. Regador Saturday morning. He admitted to the local police he has no girlfriend when he raped his married cousin, Insauriga said.
Daguno asked for forgiveness from her cousin while detained at the Ibajay police station lock-up cell.
“The victim was brought to the Ibajay District Hospital last Saturday for medical check up and she was positively identified Daguno,” Insauriga stressed.
The Ibajay PNP said rape charges against Daguno will be filed before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
