APPO to maximize police visibility

KALIBO, Aklan – The Aklan Police Provincial Office’s (APPO) "Oplan Balik Eskwela" beefs up the security in schools, malls and other places of convergence.
Classes have resumed. Senior Supt. Benigno Durana Jr., acting Aklan police director, urged all chiefs of police in 18 police stations including the 601st Aklan Provincial Mobile Group and Boracay Special Tourist Police Office (BSTPO) to strictly enforce “Oplan Balik Eskwela.”
Durana presided a command conference recently at the APPO Multi-Purpose Building.
“The Oplan maximizes police visibility and traffic management to ensure public safety in areas where people are expected to converge, especially in schools, malls and terminals,” Durana added.
PO1 Nida Gregas, APPO information officer, said beat patrol policemen will also be deployed to secure students and public places from pickpockets, thieves and robbers.
Aklan Schools Division Superintendent Victorina Laroza said public elementary and high schools in the province had an orderly and smooth opening last June 4 owing to the inter-agency efforts initiated by DepEd and the APPO.
