KALIBO, Aklan - Team Unity senatorial candidate Juan Miguel "Migs" Zubiri vowed to allocate his pork barrel for the development and progress of all towns in Central Visayas and Western Visayas if elected on May 14 elections.
The outgoing Bukidnon representative, who obtained a 27.9 percent vote and ranked in a possible 10th to 18th places in the latest Pulse Asia survey, made the call in his recent sortie in Aklan.
"The government should seriously consider the development of far-flung barangays. With P200-M in the Senate pork barrel, I am allocating a minimum of P500,000 per town in Region 6 and 7 to spur more development," the former member of 'Spice Boys' in Congress said.
Zubiri also talked about his goals for the environment and other programs such as biofuels, barangay workers benefits bill and the AFP Rate Base Pay Increase Act.
A native of Negros Occidental - whose movie-star good looks have made him a media magnet - is an agriculturist and actively supports pro-environment legislation like the total log ban bill and the Clean Air Act.
Aside from the environment, Zubiri, a graduate of the University of the Philippines Los Banos, said his other priority would be programs for the youth.

Zubiri also met Aklan Gov. Carlito Marquez (Lakas-CMD), Rep. Florencio Miraflores (Kampi) and his former colleague in the 11th Congress and Tibyog Akean founder Allen Salas Quimpo during his three-hour visit in Aklan.

Faced the fact that all person(s) who would run for the government is currupt... This lady talks about the good things that she would do - that's because she is running but once she gets there she is just another corrupt official. Corrupt has been a cancer of Philippine government - they would say all things just to be elected. Someone should check on Mabeth current assets - they will not spen millions of pesos and not get something in return. I have heard that this lady is already a corrupt and she is not even in the government yet, what more if she is elected. She does not want to pocket 40% but more like 60% and the other 40 will go to the rest of her corrupt clan. This lady is no where near a business woman she can't even run her own family. She also had mentioned about her siding with the poor. That is totally bullcrap she doesn't
