AKLAN GUV RACE
No withdrawal for my daughter – Ambito

NO WITHDRAWAL. PMP-GO bet for governor Karen Grace Galvan (center) files her certificate of candidacy at the provincial Comelec (ACMagno)

KALIBO, Aklan – There is no truth that my daughter is backing out of the gubernatorial race.
This was stressed by Lolong Ambito, father of Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino-Genuine Opposition (PMP-GO) bet Dr. Karen Grace Ambito-Galvan, after reports that his eldest daughter is no longer interested to run for Aklan governor on May 14 election.
“She is not backing out, even though, her vice gubernatorial running mate Ernie Sambuang withdraws from the race. In fact, PMP-GO is saturating the entire province to convey our platforms of government,” Ambito said.
Ambito stressed that detained President Joseph Estrada is fully supportive of the tandem of former Manila City treasurer Anthony Acevedo for congressman of the lone district of Aklan and Galvan.
It could be recalled that Galvan and former Bombo Radyo personality Sambuang filed their certificate of candidacies at the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) on March 26.
Three days after, Sambuang withdrawn his candidacy under PMP-Go for the vice governor position and instead filed his candidacy for Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) member under Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP-Laban).
Maria Bettina “Mabeth” Mobo-Garcia, who is running also for governor, is the provincial chairman of PDP-Laban.
“I was shocked and couldn’t believe by the decision of Sambuang since we fully trust him. Despite these developments, the winning tandem of Acevedo-Galvan is getting the support of Aklanons in the barangays,” Ambito added.
Ambito, who lost against Rep. Florencio Miraflores in 2004 election, said, at this time, PMP-GO is undecided on who will they support for the vice governor.
Former congresswoman Gabrielle Calizo of Kusog it Akean and Nacionalista Party bet is challenging reelectionist Ronquillo Tolentino of Tibyog Akean and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats for vice governor.

    Hello,

As in my previous post, it would be good for these candidates to state in writing 10 things they want to achieve in the next 3 years if they win the election.

These doables should be SMART (Simple, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound meaning can be achieve in 3 years).

These doables should be posted in public places for the public to read. The voters can then make their opinions if the candidates' proposed doables are what the public want. The public can then evaluate if they believe the candidate has the means to achieve his/her doables.

Let us help all these candidates and all the Aklanons move out from the usual old pie in the sky campaign rhetoric and bring them to realities. With such doables presented, it is easier to choose the candidates to vote. It is also helpful to take them to task once they win.

For me, any candidate who does not have such doables is not worth his or her salt. Not even worth the time to hear him or her.
