Liberal Party condemns killing of Aklan coordinator
calls for swift investigation, resolution of incident

The Liberal Party today condemned the killing of one of its campaign coordinators in Aklan province during the recently concluded national elections as party leaders urged police authorities to investigate and resolve the incident soon.
At the same time, Budget Secretary Florencio ‘Butch’ Abad, who is LP Vice President for Policy, Platform and Advocacy, expressed grief and concern over the killing of Sangguniang Bayan member Fernando I. Baldomero of Lezo, Aklan.
Baldomero was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men on Monday at 6:15 a.m. in Estancia village in Kalibo town. Baldomero, 61, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head and was declared dead on arrival at the provincial hospital.
“The Liberal Party condemns in the strongest possible terms the killing of Sangguniang Bayan member Fernando I. Baldomero of Lezo, Aklan. He is a man of principle who earned our greatest respect,” Abad said.
“We in the LP express our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Baldomero. We will not waver in our quest for justice,” he also said.
He added: “As the municipal coordinator of the Liberal Party and of the friends of Noy-Mar in Lezo, he was in the forefront of the change that we all want. And as the municipal coordinator of the Aquino-Roxas Bantay Balota, he made sure of the correctness of the vote count.”
Abad urged the Philippine National Police to conduct a swift investigation of the incident and to bring to justice Baldomero’s killers. “We challenge the police authorities for the immediate resolution of this inhuman act,” he said.
The LP is believed to have had the most number of party members and volunteers killed, attacked or harassed in widespread politically-related violence during the recently-concluded campaign.
Among the LP leaders killed in election-related attacks were: Rascal Afdal of Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur (killed January 4); Hadja Hamira Adbullah Agcong of Pagadian City (January 16); Motalliden Pacman "Steve" Tapodoc, candidate for municipal councilor of Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur (January 16); Roldan P. Curalde of the Mabuting Pilipino Movement (MPM) for Noynoy/Mar was killed in Butuan City (January 28); Rose Pajente, operations manager of National Food Authority in Zamboanga del Sur and a known LP supporter; Bong Dizon, coordinator of the Noynoy Aquino for President Movement in Mexico, Pampanga; Atty. Connie Brizuela, an LP volunteer who was among the 57 slain victims in the so-called Maguindanao massacre; and Cecilio Tolentino, a former mayor and running as councilor in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur (January 28).

We found a website that shows a PNP Reward of 200,000pesos for the information of the location or whereabouts of Former Lezo Mayor Alfredo Arsenio.
Please investigate the present status of Fred Arsenio. There should be a link on his being Jailed from being prime suspect of killing Radio Commentator Boy Hinolan. And if he is at large when Fernando Baldomero was killed.
To the NBI please find Fred Arcenio and dig the truth where he was when Fernando was Killed.
He is one of the political enemies to Fernando & now Mayor Victor Fernandez.
The loss of Fernando, the strong man of Victor could be gainful to the party of former mayor fred arsenio. Noynoy please Mr. President, try to lead your Investigators to Fred Arcenio.
He could be one prime suspect that some Military Men in Visayas may be covering up. We need your National Strength as Head of State, to dig the Truth.
