VIRGINIA VILLAS-BORACAY
Private beach for the select few?

BY YUL MALICSE

BORACAY - Much have been written about this island, famous for its palm trees that line the long stretch of white sand beach, and its many good hotels, but never on Virginia Villas.
At Virginia Villas, Boracay is at its best. It is a modern condominium-style hotel, that places great importance to privacy. It sits atop a hill overlooking a spectacular beach strip and provides a comfortable and convenient setting to enjoy the island.
The resort-hotel, located along the breathtaking Ilig-Iligan beach of Boracay, is an ideal place for swimming, snorkeling, parasailing or even deep-sea diving.
The Villas also offers the best view of picturesque Sibuyan Sea. The resort is about six to eight minutes by land transportation from the island's main beach.
Virginia Villas has 16 condo-style units, each with two fully-airconditioned bedrooms, spacious living and dining facilities, a refrigerator, cable TV and double full baths with hot and cold shower. From the guest units, you can enjoy the view of the surrounding islands and mountains.
Food is superb at the Villas. The guests can watch the sun rise while having breakfast al fresco style at the Sunrise Garden, or take time to relax at the Hilltop Caf - while enjoying the sight of nearby thickly forested hills. Vacationers may also have lunch or dinner, or sip their favorite cocktail at the Bat Cove Bar and Grill, just a few steps away from the famed Bat Cave.
This writer upon the invitation of Atty. Edgar Peralta, an official of the hotel, experienced what the Villas is famous for: Tranquil ambience that links one to nature, a personal paradise. True to its slogan, I found Virginia Villas a "private beach for the select few."
All the guests who came ahead of me, whom I had met, as they were checking out of the hotel, said their stay at the Villas made their visit to Boracay even more enjoyable.
Virginia Villas also offers to guests services like: airline reservation, confirmation and onward bookings; airport transfer services, island and inland tour arrangements, mail and postage, local and international phone services; fax and e-mail; transportation around the island; 24-hour security; medical clinic and chapel services, credit and counter; massage, baby-sitting, laundry and room services.
The Villas is also an ideal venue for business conferences and seminars. It has a fully-equipped function room with overhead projector; IDD/NDD telephone lines with extension in the respective bedrooms and living rooms.
How to get there? One is to take a 45-minute flight from Manila to Kalibo. Virginia Villas offers airport transfer service from Kalibo to Caticlan using airconditioned coaches, and motorboat to Boracay.
he other option is to take a 60-minute flight from Manila to Caticlan, then to Boracay in a motor boat, which is also provided by the Villas. Cruise ships plying Manila and Caticlan are also available with 12-hour travel time.
